The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. A community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members -- men and women -- in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide.

Erwin Prieskorn Scholarship Trust Fund

The Erwin Scholarship Fund has been established by Post 46 to provide scholarships to students enrolled at the University of Michigan who are either:

logoa) Students enrolled in an ROTC program administered by the U of M; or

b) Student veterans who have served in the U.S. military for 2 or more years; or

c) Students who are sons and daughters of U.S. military service personnel.

The scholarship fund is expected to award scholarships beginning in the school year 2009-2010. The scholarship fund has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as being qualified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to the fund are welcome and can be addressed to:
